Hi brother in Christ our Lord! Greetings from Manila.

What will you answer a Trinitarian apologist if he would ask for references of authorized Hebrew scholar regarding your article about echad and yachid?

I gave him your answer when it comes with yachid and he was asking for a Hebrew scholar who would and can support your claims.

Hoping and praying for your generous and gracious response. God bless you!

Hello Callistus. I would say that is an odd request. Just look at a Hebrew lexicon and look up the passages where each word is used to see the semantic range of each word. I don’t think there is anything controversial about what I said regarding the meaning of these words. The main point of the article is that the use of either word is not determinative when it comes to deciding oneness versus trinity. If yachid was used to refer to God in the OT Trinitarians would say it was referring to the oneness of His nature. Since echad is used, they say it refers to the plurality of His persons. Heads they win, tails we lose. No matter what the evidence, it supports Trinitarianism.

“In the beginning God..”God is Elohim. El means great power. The ending in plural is ones. In Hebrew a pl. is three or more. So it’s the Three strong ones created-a singular verb- so three creating as one.’

Jesus said” Baptizing them in the NAME(sing.in Greek-it or Name would be plural if all three that are named here were three separate gods as it were)of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”

“Let US make man in OUR image after OUR likeness.” **

God said “Let US go down.”

** We are body. soul and spirit.” l Thess.5:23 (it says “whole” as for each i.e. body, soul, and spirit.

    Dr H. Davis

    I am wondering……..

    1. In the OT, did Moses and the prophets believe that “God the Father” and “The Holy Spirit” were two different “Persons?”

    2. Would an Orthodox Rabbi believe in two persons of the godhead?

    3. And if we use the term “Spirit of the Lord”….is that “The Father” (since The Father is spirit not flesh) or is “the Spirit of the Lord” “The Holy Spirit?”

(It kind of seems now that we have TWO Holy Spirits.)

    4. In Isaiah 9:6……it it refers to the child / son who would be born as “the everlasting father”……..how can that be so if the Father and the Son are two different “persons?”

    1) No. Moses believed in the “One” Lord God of the OT and Moses wrote only about the “One” Lord God of the OT. Moses understood the Lord God of the OT was the Father of all creation. Moses wrote about no other God. The Lord God of the OT that Moses wrote about was also the Lord God of the NT and He was revealed to us; Jesus Christ (John 5:46). There is only one Holy Spirit of God and the Holy Spirit of the OT (1 Peter 1:11) is the Spirit of the One true God; Jesus Christ (1 John 5:20). Paul revealed this mystery; the Holy Spirit that dwells in us is Jesus Christ (Col 1:27).

    2) No, see Deut 6:4

    3) The Father is the Spirit who also became flesh. Man could not have been made in God’s own image and according to God’s likeness unless God Himself was both Spirit and flesh. In Gen 6:3 the scriptures explain man is also flesh, meaning man, like God, is not only spirit, but also flesh (see also Heb 2:14). This requires God to also be flesh otherwise man was not, is not, and would not be made in God’s own image and according to God’s likeness unless God was both Spirit and flesh. In the fullness of time it was revealed to man that we were made in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ who is God Himself (John 1:18). We were created in Him in the beginning and we will be made like Him in the end; in the resurrection (1 Cor 15:54). There’s much more to say here but to put it briefly, Jesus explained the Sabbath (the seventh day of God’s creation) was created for man and that is why He is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 3:27). Jesus is the One True God that reigns forever!!! He is the beginning of God’s creation (Col 1:18, Rev 3:14) and He is the End of God’s creation (Rev 1:8, 21:6, 22:13, Isa 41:4, 44:6, 48:12).

    4) The Lord God is One (Deut 6:4). There is only one person of God. That person is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. That person is Jesus Christ. He was born as the Everlasting Father because He, although being Spirit, He also became flesh, thereby taking part in His own creation in which He created for Himself (Col 1:16) for the purpose to reconcile His creation to Himself (Col 1:20). He reigns as the Everlasting Father in the Resurrection of all that belong to Him on the eternal day of His rest (Mark 3:27)

    Kevin Schwartz is mixed up!
Moses was taught by the religious elders to use magic tricks to entice (Exodus 7:8-12) and eventually stupefied Moses into accepting magic tricks as god’s miracles by wisdom imparted to the elder magicians. So the reason that Moses was told by God (not God himself but by elders who built the Prophets’ School teaching the Laws, rules and regulations of the Prophets) who purported to speak God’s will by demands, creeds, deeds and laws); that would be, the supernatural God of the Old Testament, the supernatural God that did not exist but whose spirit essence of good and truth resided inside every human being as a birthright.

This spirit “within you” (Luke 17:20-23) was manifested and made known by Jesus as the first born among man to understand the God Concept and by his life and message brought the knowledge to the rest of the world for which the religious scholars were furious that he made the exposed the old religious follies for the hypocrisy they indeed were and for which Jesus could declare God and not consider it robbery to proclaim God in that way in truth: in John 7:7 The (religious) world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

And Jesus debunked the old religious nonsense about God, the supernatural God that Kevin Schwartz regurgitated in Post # 6 which came from the ancient religious scholars whose descendants, even after Jesus’ day, continue to perpetuate the fraud of God as a supernatural entity made manifest by magic tricks and the which they called miracles.

The commentary by Mr. Schwartz is a perfect example of how the religious dogma of nonsense continues to flourish throughout religious circles, the same religious nonsense that Jesus in his “Woe To You” indictment Matt 23) condemned the religious scholars for the farce they indoctrinated the masses with and which continue to be erroneously taught as though true when Jesus said clearly throughout his life that the religious rituals were wrong. Heb 10: For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
Christ Fulfilled God’s, the Father within you, Will

5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
    You had no pleasure.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’”

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Jesus PUT THE WRONG RIGHT and by his life we know the countless examples from him of how one should live and treat their fellow man.
